Estonian Malacological Society

Chairwoman: Annelie Ehlvest

Estonian Malacological Society was established in July 6,1996 at Narva Jõesuu. The main object of the society is to assemble the malacologists all over Estonia and those who are interested in molluscs (snails, slugs, shells) for associating and disseminating their knowledge and experiences in learning to know our malacofauna and protecting it and solving some problems caused by these lovely creatures. The initiators of the society consider the assignment in the near future to be renewing and publishing the list of molluscs, and also making up a guide to snails in Estonian. The board of Estonian Naturalists Society received EMS in Oct 29,1996. By that date there were registered 17 members. List is opened and waiting for new applications. EMS is not a legal person, it is acting according to the statutes of ENS.The society has its own mail address: emy@zbi.ee.
